That’s exactly the idea the visual artist-turned-painter Rommel Rico had
in mind, to ‘ship’ the idea of art to a cause on his recently concluded Virrco
Bag Launch last Oct 16 at 2 PM Pandan Asian Café Scout Limbaga Tomas Morato Quezon
City.
The limited edition bags are personally rendered with a crafty appeal by the OFW-turned-artist Rommel Rico aka VIRRCO, a notable art-for-a-cause advocate. In this vibrant collection, VIRRCO applied his signature strokes reflecting his passion for female figures so incessant that truly embodies the resiliency and unfaltering spirit of Filipina women remarkably executed to mix glam and goodwill. Each bag is both a work of art and a labor of love that translates from charm to interest as a collectible item or to share as a gift for this coming Christmas season.
In this empowering fashion, a functional item like a bag nowadays becomes more than just a fashion statement or chic flex but emanates a sublime meaning that’s helping humanity. The wearable concept is also close to the heart of the artist as VIRRCO envisions bridging art to fashion and advocacy as they are after all complementing each other. As he did in the past, this time it's an honor to have Smile Train Foundation as a beneficiary.
The unveiling of VIRRCO's brand of celebratory sensibilities thru these hand-painted bags was highlighted by models sashaying and showcasing the allure and wow outlook of the charming Virrco hand-painted bag creations..
VIRRCO’s first official breakthrough exhibit entitled One Eyed Women was launched in December 2021 at MetLive Atrium in Macapagal with an impressive reception from both art appreciators and buyers benefitting the AIDS victims. His second exhibit at SM Centerpoint came last June 12 in celebration of Independence Day entitled Perlas ng Silangan featuring his definitive portraits and artworks, a feast of his masterpiece.
