My friends Abby and Jill were about to give up the Divisoria hunt for that elusive foodcart maker when we met a street peddler who gave us a tip and direction to find Zapp. We were able to locate it in Recto extension and we got the calling card, with a little tension from its slum ambiance but it was exhaustively fun.

Some years back, Owen, a self-proclaimed artist friend handed  me a whole face sketch portrait which I split for my blog. He only used crayons yet he incredibly gave it a more pronounced sadness bringing out a very stark character.

Rather than use of colors, maybe his emotions that triggers his strokes. His mood can shift from reluctance to indulgence. He can spend hours mulling over the colors and next thing you know he destroys his work.

For years now, we consider these 2 couples from Sweden as our dear family friends. Seeing them right now on their last leg of their month-long trip  gives a sense of kinship and hope for the future.  Aunt Eva and Aunt Ruth together with their husbands – Kali and Lars arrived past 4 in MOA grounds just across the globe landmark. Their flight arrival from Mindanao delayed. A walk around the vicinity was the next thing to the stop over.

Celebrating Independence day is like learning to fly without wings. Talk about kiteflying - a tradition that is threatened to disappear. On this eventful day, the participants vowed not only to save but resurrect the practice passionately. The parade symbolized the proud sentiment of Pasiguenos to keep kiteflying a part of its consciousness.
